Advent in Maria Wörth

The Romantic Church Advent in Maria Wörth takes place from November 21st to December 20th, 2026, every Saturday and Sunday, and on Monday, December 7th, and the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8th, 2026.

This year’s highlight: the opening of the Romantic Advent in Maria Wörth on November 21st, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Advent market directly by the boat landing in Maria Wörth.

Peaceful, contemplative, and characterized by the two churches on the prominent peninsula – known as the heart of Lake Wörthersee – the Romantic Church Advent in Maria Wörth aims to complete the Advent magic of the lake.

Connected to the towns of Klagenfurt, Velden, Pörtschach, and Keutschach, the beautifully decorated Advent island, serving as a link between them, invites visitors to browse the Advent stalls.

A shuttle bus service runs between the boat landing and the market on the Pyramidenkogel, departing from Maria Wörth and also towards Velden.

The Maria Wörth peninsula, stylishly decorated, glows with Christmas lights. Here, visitors to the Christmas stalls warm themselves by the fire pits and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, the scent of Advent, and the glow of lanterns.

Warm Up with Hospitality
Our lakeside kiosk “Flaschenpost” (Message in a Bottle) is open for you. The kiosk is festively decorated for winter and invites you to linger and warm up with Christmas music. Advent drinks and delicacies, simply irresistible – a wintery Advent treat awaits you. www.flaschenpost.cc
